SC First Steps 4K Program

Permanently established by the SC Read to Succeed Act in 2014, the SC Child Early Reading Development and Education Program (CERDEP) provides full-day 4-year-old-kindergarten programs.  

To qualify during the 2021-2022 school year, your student must:

• Be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2022, AND
• Be eligible for the free or reduced price lunch program or Medicaid
  

For consideration of admission into the 4K program, the following documents are required to be submitted:

• Completed  2022-2023 Application
• Birth Certificate (state certified/official- not a hospital memento)
• SC Medicaid Card or Proof of Income 
• Proofs of Residence (Utility bills, tax statement, etc.)
• SC Immunization Certificate
